Welcome
January 14, 2010
Six months and a new year later (can you believe it's really 2010?), we finally have a couple new exciting products to offer. First up, we have bundled a selection of really useful parts into the Pico Starter Kit to make getting started with open source electronics that much easier. Secondly, to address the one thing the Pico could not do, we have developed the Pico Protoshield Kit that, at its most basic level, allows you to easily connect most Arduino™ compatible shields to the Pico. By adding a Mini Breadboard, it becomes a versatile prototyping platform to use all those parts that come in the Starter Kit. Over the next few months, we will do our best to get some new material posted on the blog, including some basic tutorials for interfacing the Pico with all the cool sensors and hardware that's available out there. Stay Tuned!

Welcome to the new Modified Electronics website. Yes, I know, another store selling open source hardware but we felt we had an interesting design that had to be released out into the world, so here we are. The plan is to keep this site small and to the point—selling those designs that are unique to us and the few things that could come in handy. Our hope is that you, the customer, will actually support, or buy stuff from, all the other makers out there including Sparkfun Electronics, Adafruit Industries, Liquidware, Modern Device, and so many others. We believe that by supporting the diverse producers of new open source electronics we will all benefit from their hard work through the advancement and continued development of new or interesting technologies.
Our first design is the Modified Pico, a Freeduino, or Arduino™ compatible, microcontroller with built in USB. It's small, inexpensive, and yellow. It is also fully compatible with the Arduino™ software and supports auto-reset programming making the learning of electronics and programming microcontrollers that much easier. For now, we are starting with a small batch of these boards while we gear up production so if we suddenly run out of stock, please check back soon as we will do our best to replenish them as soon as humanly possible. We will also have more designs in the future and might even sell some breakout boards for a couple sensors and the like. If you want more info on the goings-on here please check our blog and as always you can contact us through email. Hello!
